GLC's Men's Ministry meets the third Saturday of the month for breakfast, prayer, and/or service.  We usually gather at 8 am at our church for breakfast.  Occasionally we go offsite for breakfast in order to suport local groups such as the Greenford Fire Department or Greenford Ruritan, who are putting on breakfast fundraisers.  Where the breakfast is taking place is normally announced in our bulletin four weeks ahead of time.

In 2019 our Men's Group funds covered costs for our service project:  helping a local widow remove a dilapidated garage that was threatening her neighbors property.  These funds also helped the church purchase a hundred new padded fellowship hall chairs, provide a Mother's Day appreciation luncheon & gift for mom's at church on Mother's Day, host a chili cook out for the congregation, and install electricity to our shed and pavilion.

In 2020 due to COVID 19 concerns our outreach was somewhat curtailed.  Nevertheless the Men's Group helped provide the work crews for transitioning our worship to an outdoor Drive In experience in the parking lot. Which was very appreciated and well attended.  The switch to outdoor worship also revealed why God had moved our men to install electricity to our outdoor shed and pavilion.  It made providing outdoor worship a lot simpler than if we hadn't had electricity available outdoors!  God is good!!

The Men's group also provided the work crew for replacing the shed door, and laying cement to provide a drive up access to our shed as well as access for our church van to the shed's carport.  The Men's group also repositioned the sidewalk to the parking lot's north entrance making it much more handicap friendly.

In 2021 COVID 19 continued to make it difficult to gather but eventually we did with some spread apart seating assignments.  Once we gathered we were able to hold a chili fund raiser which raised almost $2,000 dollars.  This kicked off a fund drive for replacing a roof for a local family.  It eventually cost $6,000 but through donations of members and the community the entire cost was covered!  The family is very appreciative to be warm and dry this winter.

Greenford Lutheran's men’s group hopes to provide a place for men of the church to fill their bellies and their hearts so they can be empowered to be like David-  “a man after God’s own heart” (Acts 13:22). Men of all ages are welcome!!
